What is Movie Review Database?
Moviereviewdb.com (Movie Review Database) is a place for anyone to rate and write reviews for all types of movies. The goal of the site is to be a popular place for movie goers to visit to see if a movie is worth seeing or renting. It's also a place for movie critics of all levels to voice their opinion and let others know what they think of a movie.
You don't have to be a professional writer or critic to participate on the site. We encourage everyone to write reviews. And if your not particularly found of writing, just rate the movie using our 5 star system to have your opinion count.
Do I have to create an account to write reviews?
Yes. An account is required so our system can keep track your ratings/reviews, and points. The registration is very simple. We only require a username (a handle other members will see when you write reviews) and a valid email address. You can register here.
I want to write a review for a movie thats not in the database, can I add it?
At this time, we do not allow members to add movies. Only the staff at moviewreviewdb.com can add new movies. We do this to avoid duplicate movies being entered, and spam, or invalid movie entries. You can however e-mail us the movie(s) you don't see in the database and we'll gladly add them for you.

Why are some of the movie pictures not correct?
If you see an inappropriate picture (nudity, etc) please notify us immediately with the link of the movie!
How do I rate movies?
To rate movies, you must first be a registered member and logged into your account. Click here to register if you havn't already.
When you're logged in, search for the movie you would like to write a review for. you will see the following on all movie pages:

Click on the appropriate star next to "My Rating". As a guide, the stars mean the following: 1 star - Poor 2 stars - Nothing Special 3 stars - Worth Watching 4 stars - Great movie 5 stars - Awesome!
You can hold your mouse over the star to see the above definitions when rating movies.
Note: Clicking on the stars updates the system automatically. The amount of stars you clicked on will remain in yellow each time you go back to that movie. You can always change your rating at anytime.
Please rate movies as accurately to YOUR liking as possible. Your ratings will be used later on for the Movie Review Database Recommendation algoritham (more information will be released on this later).
How do I write a review on Movierevoewdb.com?

When you're logged in, you will see the following on all movie pages:
Click on orange "Submit Your review " button and a text area will appear. Note: You must rate the movie before submitting your review.
There are two types of movie review submission methods. You can write a review directly on moviereviewdb.com, or you can link to a review on your website or blog. To link to your own website, you will need to supply your site/blog name, and agree to our terms and conditions found in the settings of your account. Once you agree, you will have 2 submission methods when submitting reviews, one of them being an option to add a link and a snippet of text from your review from your website or blog.
Rules:
If your review has spoilers in it, please write **SPOILERS** or something to that affect at the top of your review. Some people who havn't seen the movie might want to hold back on reading your review if it gives away important parts of the movie.
Avoid using vulgar language please. We do not sensor your reviews, but if a review is full of inappropriate words or material, we will remove it with a warning.
We do not allow any html or formatting in the reviews. So don't put it in or your review, or all your hard work to create the html will be wasted.
Links are not permitted. If you post a link, it will not be clickable.
Write as little or as much as you like (5000 characters max).
Review Suggestions (things to include in your review):
First off, everyone has their own style of writing and opinions. Don't be afraid to write your own thoughts, in your own style of writing. Be unique!
Write what you liked/disliked about the movie.
How was the acting?
How did the director set the mood?
Was there special affects? How good were they?
How did you react physically/emotionally to the movie? If it was a comedy, did you laugh? Or a horror, were you scared?
Keep in mind the more detailed your review is, the more points you will earn by other members!
When linking to a review on my website, why are you asking for the full review?
This field is optional. You don't have to put your full review if you don't want to. However if you do supply your review full review, it will be included in searches members do on reviews. If your review turns up in one of the searches, we will display a small section of the review that contains the search terms, and a link to the full review on your website. We will never show your full review on moviereviewdb.com under any circumstance.
What are points used for ?
Points are used to show your level of activity on moviereviewdb.com, and what level of movie buff you are. The more ratings and reviews you contribute, the more points you get.
Members with the most points will also be the first to receive movie promotions and offers by our sponsors, and other advantages we will announce at a later date.
How do I earn points?
You earn points for each rating and review you give, and from other members who rate your reviews. Here is a complete breakdown of the points:

The maximum points you can earn per movie is limited to the number of points other members give you for the review. Here is an example breakdown of the points:
You rated Rated Pulp Fiction (+1 point), wrote a review for it (+1), and 3 other members rated your review
with 5 points (+15), 10 members rated it at 4 (+40), and 3 members gave you 3 points (+9).
So that means from writing a good review for Pulp Fiction, it earned you
66 points! Not to bad. The more reviews you write like that, the faster your points will build up.
How do I change my password or e-mail after registering?
When you're logged into your account, click on the "Settings" link next to your username on the top left of the page.
